John Shafaee

Founder and CEO

John Shafaee is the president and CEO of Medtelligent, where he plays an active role in setting the product vision and technology direction for the company’s flagship product, ALIS.

John is a technologist and entrepreneur with more than 20 years of experience building and leading software development teams. He was previously the director of research and development at UBS AG, a large international bank, and the director of software development at Hostway, a global Internet hosting company. He is the author of Web Programming in Python: Techniques for Integrating Linux, Apache, and MySQL.

John is driven by a passion to solve challenging problems in the senior living space. His obsession sometimes takes him outside the office where he likes to drop in on senior living communities and meet with current (and future) Medtelligent customers.

Huzaifa Tapal

Founder and CTO

Huzaifa Tapal is the chief technology officer of Medtelligent, where he is responsible for technology strategy and product delivery.

Huzaifa was known as “the secret weapon” in his previous job at the Tribune Technology for his ability to learn quickly and rescue troubled projects. Under his leadership, Medtelligent has built seamless integrations with partner systems, created friendly and streamlined user interfaces, and established a secure and compliant back-end architecture.

At work, Hozi is driven by a passion for learning. At home, he applies his skills to find new ways to make his three children laugh.

Trisha Cole

General Counsel and COO

Trisha Cole is the chief operating officer and general counsel of Medtelligent. She is responsible for sales, marketing, account management, and business operations. In her role as general counsel, Trisha advises the executive team on business development strategies, risk management, intellectual property protection, employment and policy matters, and regulatory compliance.

Before moving in-house, Trisha was a senior litigation associate at Synergy Law Group LLC.  At Synergy, Trisha practiced complex commercial litigation and concentrated on intellectual property, employment disputes, and general business litigation for entities ranging from start-ups to Fortune 500 companies.

When she is not in the office, she might be found building with Legos or writing poetry books for her son.
